GUNSMOKE - FROM SOMEWHERESpaghetti Western Psychobilly!

Canadian rockers Gunsmoke, as the name may suggest, play some very cool Cowboy-esque psychobilly (cowboyabilly?) tunes, with a sound that's straight from the big screen and onto your CD player (sorry, that's probably mp3 player for most of you nowadays).

Like a less-hectic Reverend Horton Heat, Gunsmoke carve a nice little musical niche for themselves with a sound that is both clever and original, and perfectly executed with all the usual rockabilly traits - a great double bass sound, whiskey drenched riffs and a drum sound to swing bar doors open to!

Saying that, some more variation wouldn't go amiss - by the end of the album the tracks seem to get a little samey and seem to merge into one long jam, but when you play music as specific as this then I guess that's always going to be a problem.

Overall? Highly recommended fans of more 'pure' rockabilly - and westerns!
