ABRASIVE ACTION

Abrasive Actions unique street punk jewellery really appeals to our 'DIY or die' outlook on life, and, as a result, becomes Voltcase's first ever full blown fashion feature.

As the bio goes, its: "Jewellery & accessories for the toxic, trashy & intoxicated... deconstructed n’ reconstructed, D.I.Y, one-offs & rare finds...". Yep, it is indeed.

Anyway, dont just take our word for it, check out the pics down below and then visit the MySpace here so you can waste all of your hard earned cash on funky one-off items.

Hello! How are you?
I got 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one…

If you were talking to a stranger, how would you describe yourself in three words?
Stranger Danger, BAD

So, tell us about what you do then:
I cook, I clean, I bake cakes… oh sorry wrong application. Hi, I’m Maggy and I’m an alcoholic… sorry… wrong one again.
I make jewellery and accessories and I help people… I help everyone look their best when meeting presidents of faraway lands, their in-laws, their new pimp, during high speed police chases, when facing the court of law, when involved in anything a little bit questionable, dodgy and/or illegal.

Would you sell out and do mass manufactured stuff if the price was right, or are you just too punk rock for all that crap?
You will learn a lot about your neighbours when you set up a lemonade stand on the sidewalk.

Punk rock is littered with potentially taboo imagery, like the hot rod iron cross or the infamous Sid Vicious Swastika shirt, do you have any personal guidelines on what you will / wont do, or is anything fair game?
Anything is fair game. Except for plain underwear, Jesus sandals, ankle boots, tight pants in primary colours, tights as a replacement for pants and anything beige.

Punk rock and music in general means a lot to us here at Voltcase, do you listen to much yourself? Any favourite bands / artists that influence you?
Punk rock will always be my true love but I listen to a lot of other music too. Tacky hip hop is in my blood. And ABBA. Also, pop from the 80’s and 90’s. The only genre of music I can say that I hate is ‘wussy uni rock’ (i.e. Coldplay). I’ve got too many favourites to list but right now I’m listening to a lot of Chaos UK, Defiance, External Menace, Discipline, Deadline, Bad Manners, Lil’ Kim, Fergie and last but definitely not least, ABBA is always somewhere in my playlist.

Where does the inspiration come from? Whatever you stumble across?
Guns, bitches, brawls & bottles… juvenile delinquency, cider and those 4 a.m. chats about the most random shit before passing out.

If you had to chose one: sex, drugs, or rock'n'roll?
Don’t they go hand in hand??

Why should the lazy general public make the effort to check you out, and what have you got planned for the future?
Because I AM the lazy public and see question 3.

And finally..... what does the word 'Voltcase' mean to you?
I don’t know why but the word “rainbow bubblegum” just came into my head…
