VOLTCASE BIANCA BARNETT INTERVIEW:
Welcome to Voltcase, Bianca, how are things?
Things are amazing, I'm staying busy with current acting projects, press and promotion. This weekend I'm heading out to my first convention as a vendor. I'll be selling autographed photos and merchandise at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors to promote the upcoming horror flick, Albino Farm.
So, how would you describe yourself to a stranger in three words?
Chameleon, intense, giggly.
You seem to have quite a varied range of styles and photo sets, from punk to horror to burlesque and more, how do you decide on each one?
It depends on what is inspiring me at the moment and how I am feeling. I've always had a rebellious streak and get excited about trying new looks. It's just a reflection of how much I love fashion and expressing myself. A therapeutic release of my inner demons and personalities.
Do you find that your modelling often reflects your own personality, or are you more 'play-acting' as other people when you do a shoot?
I think it's always a part of myself and personality that I draw on. Even though I can be shy in everyday life, I feel confident and comfortable modeling and channeling emotion in front of the camera. Probably because I've been posing my entire life!
Any personal guidelines on what you will / wont do regards to modelling? And any advice to anyone out there whose just starting out?
I have done tasteful and artistic nude modeling in the past, but nothing crude or pornographic. I know I'm not perfect and I think other people can appreciate the beauty in being flawed and human.
Any piercing's or tattoos that you want to tell us about? Or any that you don't want to tell us about, for that matter!
I lied about my age and got my septum pierced when I was about sixteen. When I turned eighteen, I got my labret pierced with a spike (still have the scar!) and had both nipples done. I woke up the next morning with my little yellow taxidermy t-shirt SOAKED in blood. I freaked out because I didn't want my mom to know what I had done and washed all the blood off my shirt. Now I regret not saving it! I only have one tattoo at the moment and I gave it to myself with India ink and a needle when I was about twelve or so. It was supposed to be a rose, but it just turned out to be an ugly "C" shape! I have so many ideas for tattoos now, but I am SO particular about who I want to do them. I would prefer a female who can work in gorgeous, feminine colors and shapes. I am hoping to find my artist sometime soon...
Any rock-star style stories that you can tell us about? Ever thrown a TV out of a hotel window, for example?
Too many to recall... or not recall... Once I stole an extremely expensive bottle of champagne from a swanky party and then threw it at a building on Hollywood Boulevard while tourists were walking by. No particular reason, just was bored I think.
If you were interviewing yourself, what question would you ask yourself? And what would the answer be?
Q. Who were you in a past life? A. Garfield... the cat, not the president.
So, what does the future hold for you this year?
I am in negotiations with several feature length films, so please keep your fingers crossed for me! I would love to start modeling again especially for clothing companies. I'm also constantly updating my website, www.biancabarnett.com, so feel free to stop by anytime and check out what I am up to!
And finally, the question that we ask everyone that appears in Voltcase - what does the word 'Voltcase' mean?
Voltcase- a new, high tech coffin that keeps zombies and vampires from escaping the decrepit earth with electro shock technology.
